Millinery

This class taught construction and manipulation techniques for hats and headgear. We started by learning how to pleat ribbon and make different types of bows. I made a small sinamay hat with peacock feather first, then a small buckram top hat with macramé detail. For the felt hat I took my red felt hood and stretched it into a mushroom wizards cap. For the wire project, I used armature wire, window screen, and hot glue to create a pair of horns, which I then wrapped mostly in thread. For the final project I used my remaining buckram to construct a wide-brimmed boater hat with ribbon band and feather detail.
