CCM Patterning 1

Darts & Princess Seam Draping

The focus of this class was learning how to develop flat patterns on paper, but muslin was used to construct proofs and practice draping. These two mock-ups were a practice in constructing half-scale snug dresses with darts and princess seams. The dart practice was draped for a 360º view, while the princess seam practice was only partially draped. Both were affixed using pins and tape.

CCM Patterning 2: Historical Women

The focus of this class was applying the skills from Patterning 1 to create historically accurate women's clothing profiles. We completed one muslin mock-up at half scale and started a full-scale muslin mock-up before school closed for COVID-19. During the remote learning period, I patterned and constructed a half-scale Charles James 1954 ballgown.
